Climate Camp 2022: Decision Day

In 2022 we will run the biggest climate camp Scotland has ever seen, to fight for climate justice and shut down the Scottish fossil fuel industry. On Sunday 13 March, we’ll decide where to start.

WHEN: Sunday 13th March, 2pm-6pm WHERE: Glasgow Autonomous Space, 53 Kilbirnie St, Glasgow G5 8JD

We will decide between two targets to focus our camp on:

INEOS: owned by multibillionaire Jim Ratcliffe, is Scotland’s worst polluter by far. Almost unknown to the public, the company is planning to expand their site, while pretending to go green by planning new blue hydrogen plants that in reality will keep Scotland addicted to burning gas.

NORTH SEA OIL & GAS: Scotland has a special responsibility for climate justice due to its North Sea Oil and Gas industry. With 29 new oil and gas projects still in the pipeline, and governments and corporations committed to extracting every single drop from the north sea, we risk climate devastation.

On Sunday 13th of March, 2pm-6pm, in the Glasgow Autonomous Space, Climate Camp Scotland will meet to decide which of these is our 2022 target – and we want your ideas and your voice. The venue has a second step-free entrance, please contact us if you need to use it. More information here: https://glasgowautonomous.weebly.com/accessibility.html

All are welcome and you don’t need to register to come. We will follow the decision-making with an informal, alcohol-free social, and we’d love people to bring contributions for shared vegan snacks and cake if you are able. If you can’t attend in person: We will hold an online consultation on Thursday, 10 March at 6pm. More information will be added to this page shortly.
